Stength and Condition Coach departs
Multiply Titans Strength and Conditioning Coach Diederick “Dicky” Kruger will depart for Auckland Aces, New Zealand, at the start of this month.
Kruger joined the Titans in April 2009 on a part-time basis, before assuming full-time responsibility for the professional squad the following season. Upon his appointment he was familiar with SuperSport Park’s surroundings, having been part of the Northerns Cricket Academy in 1999.
In his capacity as Strength and Conditioning Coach, the Titans celebrated winning seven trophies. Kruger, who hails from Witbank, said, "I will miss the people that I worked with, from the admin staff down to the players."
“I had the chance to work with some of the best coaches in the country - Matt Maynard, Rob Walter and now Mark Boucher.”
“I would especially like to thank Pierre Joubert for supporting me throughout my time at the Franchise. He was my captain in school boy cricket and he was one of the first guys to believe in me when I started here.”
Kruger will take on the role as Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for Auckland Aces at Eden Park, where he will oversee the men’s first team and the women’s team, Auckland Hearts.
“I’m looking forward to the new challenge of a new club in a new country - I know I will learn a lot. If I’m going to grow as a person and a trainer this is the step forward.”
Mark Boucher, Multiply Titans coach, added: “It has been a great pleasure to have been able to work with Dicky during my first season as coach. I wish him and his family all the best as they embark on this new chapter of their lives.”
